Disaster Response Relief Kit Drive

Mission to North America needs our help replenishing their stock of Disaster Relief Kits following the devastation from Hurricane Helene. We are hosting a Relief Kit Drive through November 15, and we need your help to supply items! Each item bulleted below adds up to one kit. You can help by donating a whole kit (preferred) or by donating any of the items below to make a kit. Drop-off boxes and examples of the items are available in the Connector.

We will pack the items into the buckets on Saturday, November 16, between 9:00am and 11:00am as part our November Hearts & Hammers service project day and deliver them to the disaster relief warehouse in Rome, Georgia.

Disaster Relief Kit Items

• Scouring pads (approx. 5; no stainless steel, Brillo, or SOS-soap built in)

• Sponges (approx. 7; dry only, non-cellulose)

• Cleaning wipes (approx. 18; reusable Handi-wipes, non-linen, no terry-cloth towels)

• Liquid laundry detergent (1, approx. 50oz)

• Household cleaner (1, 12-16 oz plastic bottle)

• Disinfectant dish soap (1, 16-28 oz plastic bottle)

• Small clothes pins (approx. 100)

• Clothes lines (2, approx. 50ft; cotton or plastic)

• Dust mask (approx. 5)

• Reusable latex gloves (2 pairs)

• Work gloves (1 pair; totally leather or cotton with leather palm)

• Bag roll of heavy-duty trash bags (approx. 20, 33-45 gallons)

• Bottle of insect repellant spray (1, 6-14 oz plastic bottle with protective cap)
